Cool place for a burger and a beer on a Friday night. The pie is amazing as well.
MoreA small hole-in-the-wall on highway 21. Quick service, home-style feel, home-style food, and a for sure must stop.
MoreCustomer service could have been beter. On the owners part. He was unwilling to put my fish on bread. I did not ask for a discount I simply asked for catfish on bread. He said noThe server Brenda did a good job.Salad was okay. No sweet tea.No substitutions The catfish was good and the fried okra was goodMy son said the chicken tenders were also good.
MoreThis is a quintessential Texas cafe that serves classic comfort foods. The iced tea was good and strong and the salad bar was fresh. Alot of fried food and home cooking. All of what we had was delicious. We also enjoyed looking throughout the cafe at the antiquea/nick nacks.
MoreChicken Fried Steak is outstanding! And food is always served up fresh. Worth the stop every time.
MoreNot only good food, good service, but a great place to park your RV. Nice and quit. Every one super friendly.
MoreI have been living here for 6 months for work. They have stepped up their game with the restaurant, new bar, great food, and more hours. Great quiet weekend get away.
MoreVery relaxed RV park, great price at $500 a month with everything included, pet friendly, quiet and has a restaurant/store open on weekends. Park needs some tlc. Including cleaning laundry room, ANT control and tree limbs and debris picked up.
MoreFriendly, clean great home cooked food
Pies are great.
Lovely place all around. Friendly people and great food!
Food was good and the people were great
Good food and service.
Cozy little country cafe. Home cooked meals with a twist, I.e. Frog legs and quail offered besides good steaks and chicken. Not many tables so call before headed there. Near Lincoln, Texas.
MoreI got to meet the owners son he is such a sweet young man the place was very clean the staff was very friendly the food was awesome I love their fried shrimp my friend had a baked potato fully loaded it look amazing
MoreVery nice place to eat. The staff was so nice with great service. Some of the best catfish I’ve ever eaten.
MoreSafer
Cute little cafe with wonderful staff, home-style comfort food, and the best homemade pie I've had since my grandmother's at Thanksgiving dinner! Meal was good and everything was freshly made.
MoreGreat food and great service. Highly recommend.
First time and the food was great. Will stop again when we come down this way again.
MoreCustomer service was great, food good, very clean
Chicken fried steaks here are amazing, have yet to find a restaurant comparable for the value you get. Also have some good seafood dishes. The floors are a bit creaky and rooms crowded but that is something I'm willing to put up with as the food and service here is stellar.
MoreSatifiying food!!!
The nicest folks you'll ever meet. Really good food, comfortable atmosphere. Clean RV park. I'm impressed 😊.
MoreDelicious home cooked food with great staff. Very clean. Friendly patrons.
This is my grandmother's and I's go to place whenever we drive from College Station to Austin. Not only does it have that home cooking taste, but the actual location feels like your a guest in someone's home and the staff treat you as such. They have the best Catfish by far! #elmcreek
MoreGreat salad bar. Parents had CFS and they loved it. I had catfish, crisp and fresh. Had 8 in party and all left happy. Staff was attentive and friendly. It is hard to make everyone in a large group satisfied, Elm Creek pulled it off. Thanks
MoreI just love this place. Fantastic fried pickles. The burgers are also good. Chicken, shrimp and catfish also on menu. Now and then wild game is featured. Salad bar. Nice people.
MoreThis quaint cafe is so close to our house, yet it took us years to find it (alternate route taken after flooding occurred) and no doubt about it - we will be repeat customers! We had the marinated chicken breast, the chicken fingers, french fries and a piece of dewberry pie for dessert. It was the best meal we have had out in a long while - it was that good!!! Our waitress was a happy lady who liked her job and she made our experience all that much more pleasant :)Next time, we are opting for the seafood and catfish - can't wait!! Oh yeah, the antiques are for sale and reasonably priced. Came home w/a creamware bowl I couldn't live without! Thank you Elm Creek - you rock!
More1st time good pulled pork sandwich and good shrimp!
I went there for the Chicken Fried steak; Don't bother was the worst chicken fried steak i have ever eaten. I wouldn't even call it chicken fried steak. It was mostly batter, the steak was way to thin, was really tough. My mother is in her 80's she ordered off the senior menu. she ordered catfish and did not want fries, she wanted okra instead. they would not let her substitute. We were there for lunch at 12:30 PM there was nobody else in there. Will not go back, will not recommend.
MoreThe food is home-cooked and delicious! If you're lucky, you can have their homemade pie!!Plus, a beautiful place!! A must visit for Aggies!
MoreGood hamburgers, friendly staff
This place epitomizes everything I love about small town diner/cafes. Great service, and better food. We had the fried green tomatoes, small (only one whole round steak) chicken fried steaks - grilled, which is their pan-fried version. Salad bar was by far the freshest of anywhere I have ever been. Lettuce and tomatoes looked like they had just picked them out of the garden and rinsed them off. Pies for dessert were also outstanding - lemon meringue and dewberry. Such a good experience, wish I could give it more than 5 stars.
MoreIf you ain't been, you better go
Update: They Closed Down!!! That really sucks because they have been around for 30+ years! Down home cooking with a menu that stays away from the cookie cutter chain stores, more money for local business, Ronald McD is already rich. Plus, I would rather have a meal prepared by hand, on-site, by a human than to eat some defrosted, machine processed, preservative saturated, who knows what's in that "chicken nugget"!
MoreGood but not like it used to be
Visited for a much-overdue 2nd time yesterday. It's smack in the middle of Aggieland and Austin (which is awesome for me). Fried and wonderfully southern!! VERY fresh salad bar. Wonderful waitress (shout out to Bobbie)! Delicious pie!! It may be a special but the jalapeno corn nuggets are a must-try!!! It's also just a cute place to look around inside and has some antiques for those of us who like to look at that:)
MoreExcellent food. WONDERFUL and friendly staff.
drove all the way from College Station us to come get some food. they were closing didn't have any note on the door about when or why they were closed. And it wasn't on Monday which is the only day that is official e closed. Very unhappy with this.
